HAYS – The Kansas Science Festival is returning to Downtown Hays on Sunday May 3. With astronomy viewing and additional events scheduled for Saturday May 2nd, the event brings two days of interactive experiences highlighting the worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The festival invites K-12 students, families, educators, and community members from across Kansas to explore, question, and discover together.
As part of a statewide initiative, the Kansas Science Festival is designed to demonstrate how STEM is accessible, engaging, and relevant for Kansans of all ages. Festival participants can explore a wide range of topics, including robotics, chemistry, ecology, astronomy, wildlife biology, health sciences, agricultural technology and more – illustrating how STEM intersects with nearly everything on our planet. Sunday event stations will spread along Main Street in Downtown Hays, from the Hays Public Library to STEM Harvest.
Last year’s event brought around 1,200 participants to Downtown Hays with visitors from across the state. It received rave reviews from preschoolers to high schoolers to adults, all finding activities to pique their interest.
Event Highlights:
