Published 8:00 am Friday, January 16, 2026
The Washington Parish STEM & Innovative Learning Center’s FIRST Robotics Competition team, FRC Team 10446 — Circuitron, officially launched the 2026 robotics season with an inspiring kickoff event at the NASA Infinity Science Center in Pearlington, Mississippi.
Students and coaches spent the day immersed in science, technology, and innovation as they toured the center, explored aerospace exhibits, and connected with fellow FIRST Robotics teams from across the region. The highlight of the visit was watching the official 2026 FIRST Robotics Game Reveal, which marks the beginning of months of planning, designing, and building a competition-ready robot.
Following the reveal, Team Circuitron immediately began brainstorming strategies and concepts for this year’s robot, setting the tone for a season focused on creativity, teamwork, and hands-on engineering. The kickoff event serves as the official start of the FIRST Robotics season, during which students will prototype, code, test, and refine their designs while developing skills that extend far beyond the competition field.
The 2026 official team roster includes: Londyn Weary, Varnado High School; Zoey Powell, Bogalusa High School; Dyron Roberts, Bogalusa High School; Lloyd Roberts, Varnado High School; Sofia Alonzo, Bogalusa High School; Mason Peterson, Bogalusa High School; Alexis Broadway, Bogalusa High School and Samantha Harelson, Varnado High School.
Serving as student mentor is Dylon Roberts, a 2025 graduate of Bogalusa High School. The team is coached by Taryn Spikes-Webb and Veronica Sheridan. Additional students have expressed interest in joining, and the roster will be updated as new members officially come aboard.
Team leaders also extended special thanks to Vanessa Smith, Phlesher Mingo, Connie Bell Willis, D. John Sanders, and all parents and supporters whose encouragement and involvement help make the program possible.
FIRST Robotics is widely recognized as more than a competition, offering students a pathway to STEM careers while fostering leadership, technical skills, and real-world problem-solving experience. Team Circuitron is proud to represent Washington Parish and looks ahead to an exciting and challenging 2026 season.
