Students in Mrs. Galloway’s classes at Commerce City Schools recently explored how light behaves during a hands-on science lesson, using Sharpies to draw opaque shapes on transparencies and observing how objects block light to create shadows. Working collaboratively, students tested different areas of the classroom and discovered how moving the light source changed the size and sharpness of an image before creating shadow puppets to demonstrate the properties of transparent, translucent and opaque materials.
