Pupils in Years 7 to 10 took part in a mix of trips and in-school workshops aimed at building confidence, teamwork and life skills.
James Baker, associate assistant principal and pupil development lead at Lift Clacton, said: “Learning beyond the classroom is incredibly impactful and it reminds our students the importance of learning inside the classroom in order to understand the wider world.

At the Science Museum, students explored interactive exhibits on engineering, medicine, and space exploration.

Phoebe, a Year 7 student, said: “Enrichment week made me feel like I go to the best school in the world.”
At Go Ape, students tackled the Tree Top Challenge, building confidence and resilience as they navigated the high ropes course.
At Colchester Zoo they learnt about conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species and their habitats – encountering animals they had never seen in real life.

Oscar, in Year 9, said: “I learned thousands of new things.
“I made so many memories with my friends and I’m super grateful.”
As well as the trips, students participated in on-site workshops including self-defence, sexual health awareness, and a creative challenge to design their dream summer festival.
The activities were designed to support personal development, boost aspiration and encourage independence.
Marc Cologne, principal at Lift Clacton, said: “I am immensely proud of our students, our staff, and the positive culture that made this week such a success.
“We said we would do things differently here and this is another example of what we are doing to get the very best from our students.”
Enrichment Week is part of a series of measures which the school is putting in place to ensure that all young people, regardless of background or family circumstances, have access to inspiring, memorable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Another enrichment week will take place for students in the summer term.
