RANAU: Ranau MP Datuk Jonathan Yasin emphasised the importance of children mastering Science, Technology and Innovation in facing the challenges of the digital era and the knowledge-based economy.
He said early exposure to technology applications in daily life can produce a generation that is competitive, creative and adaptive to the rapid development of science and technology.
He said efforts to strengthen students’ interest in Science, Technology and Innovation need to be continuously mobilised with the support of teachers and parents, especially at the primary school level as the basis for the formation of quality human capital.
Jonathan was speaking when officiating the Madani STI Programme 2026 jointly organised by the Ranau Parliamentary Office and SK St Benedict Ranau here recently, which saw active participation from school staff and support from the local community.
The programme aimed to empower Science, Technology and Innovation among students in line with the aspirations of Madani Malaysia, with activities including exhibitions of selected students’ projects and innovations to foster creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving through a project-based learning approach.
