The Tawi-Tawi government, under the leadership of Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali, has conducted a 4-day tourism development planning.
The Provincial Orientation-Workshop on Tourism Development Planning was held from April 14 to 17 and attended by the municipal tourism officers, local government representatives, and other stakeholders.
The activity aimed to strengthen tourism development planning across the province, the provincial government said.
“Participants were equipped with strategies in developing tourism attractions in their respective municipalities,” it said.
Each municipality presents its 4-month work plan, outlining proposed activities, expected outputs, persons responsible, resource requirements, and implementation timelines.
Provincial Tourism Officer Pershing Taiyab thanked Sali for his continued support for tourism development in the province.
He highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to promoting tourist destinations while preserving the heritage, culture, and arts of each municipality.
“The workshop provided a platform for discussion, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among participants, reinforcing a shared goal of advancing tourism development while preserving Tawi-Tawi’s cultural identity,” the provincial government said.
