Two-time Grammy Award winner Rosalía is eyeing the largest acting role of her career as she enters early discussions to join Alma Har’el’s upcoming feature drama, Wet.
Deadline reports that the Spanish music icon, who boasts 11 Latin Grammys and four MTV Video Music Awards, is in early talks for the project. If deals close, she will join a star-studded cast in development that includes Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Odessa A’zion, and Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie.
While formal details have not yet been revealed, the project is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile movies heading into the market.
What we know about Alma Har’el’s Wet movie
Viewed as a family drama, Wet has drawn industry comparisons to HBO’s Succession and Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness. The screenplay is co-written by Honey Boy director Alma Har’el and Christian Stangeby, based on an original spec script authored by Stangeby.

Apart from the director herself, Chris Leggett, Riva Marker, and Fifth Season have also come aboard as producers and financiers for the feature. Her previous film, Honey Boy, was critically acclaimed, earning positive reviews on the TIFF and Sundance circuits.
The film starred Shia LaBeouf, who also wrote the screenplay. It marked a major step in her career and further established her as a filmmaker to watch.
If Rosalía does sign on for the film, it will be the biggest acting project the singer has taken on in her on-screen career. She first broke into acting with Pain and Glory, the 2019 film directed by Pedro Almodóvar, in which she appeared in a small cameo. She would then go on to land a supporting role in the third season of Euphoria.
While the role she will play in Wet remains under wraps, reports have suggested that she will have a key role in the film’s storyline.
