The US Open final is almost here, but that’s not the only tennis-related news to celebrate. Months after it was first announced that Romeo Beckham (son of Victoria and David Beckham, ofc) would be starring in a queer tennis romance called Forty Love, fans finally got a new look at the project…and dare I say, it looks promising.
This is Romeo’s first acting job, as he previously mainly worked as a model for brands like Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. And if you’re a big fan of Heated Rivalry and Challengers, then you should get excited, since Forty Love basically combines the two.
Here’s everything we know so far about the film, ahead.
What is the film Forty Love about?
Produced by Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, a Mediawan company, and co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios, Forty Love revolves around young tennis star Sacha and his charismatic new rival, played by Romeo.
The blurb from the studio for the movie says: “For the first time, [Sacha] faces an opponent of an entirely different nature—love. A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing—and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”
Producer Pierre-Ange Carlotti (who’s best known as a fashion photographer) described the film to Variety as a “sensual, romantic, and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story” about the “demands of high-level sport, and everything that lies beneath the surface…led by outstanding performances.”
Who else stars in the film?
Romeo’s costar is Paul Kircher, a French actor best known for his roles in The Animal Kingdom and Winter Boy.
Like Romeo, he also has famous parents, as he’s the son of French actors Irène Jacob and Jérôme Kircher.
When will Forty Love be available to watch?
Forty Love is due to arrive in French theaters on November 25, 2026, with an international release to follow.
As long as there are subtitles, I’m there!
