Rochester, N.Y. — State lawmakers announced historic funding for the star-studded staple.
The money will help with facility and technology upgrades, along with increased accessibility.
“Included in that are all of these assorted projects, from behind-the-scenes stuff like mechanical things and electrical things to see the stuff that our visitors will see and feel immediately,” said Jim Bader, the planetarium director for the Rochester Museum of Science Center. “That includes things like the sidewalks out front being improved, the projections as you go in; you expect high-quality projections, and we can finally do that.”
The planetarium has reached its funding goal of $2.1 million.
