The shooting of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film, directed by ‘Hi Nanna’ filmmaker Shouryuv, has commenced. The muhurat ceremony, marking the start of filming, was held on Monday and attended by actor Nani.
Director Shouryuv posted glimpses from the ceremony on his Instagram account, featuring Nani holding the film’s clapboard to signify the start of production on the untitled project. “VDxSHOURYUV. Some moments stay with you forever. Having Nani garu there for this one is something I’ll always carry with me. It’s begun today. Now, just wait & witness Vijay Deverakonda garu become the ROAR. Cannot wait to hit the floors. I hope this movie will stay. It all began with, That’s A Roar,” he wrote.
Previously, Vijay Deverakonda shared the film’s first announcement poster on Instagram, introducing the team involved. He described the project as challenging and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with an international crew. “Introducing the team taking on the scary task of making this intimidating film So happy to have this firecracker global team working on this one with Shouryuv on his wild imagination and intense heart. ROAR my friends. I will give you my all,” he stated.
The poster featured Vijay Deverakonda at the centre, walking with black dogs on chains, accompanied by several team members holding weapons. A black horse also appeared in the frame, suggesting a large-scale action narrative.
In addition to this project, Vijay is working on ‘Ranabaali’, a historical action drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Set between 1854 and 1878, it focuses on resistance against colonial rule during the Great Indian Famine. Vijay will portray a freedom fighter, with Rashmika Mandanna playing his wife, and Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo cast as the antagonist.
