The Department of Science and Technology of the Gujarat government has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Centre in a bid to strengthen the Bharat Net network under the Revised Bharat Net Program Phase-3.
The MoC was formalised during the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheriya and Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Mona Khandhar.
Bharat Net Phases 1 and 2 are the flagship initiatives of the state government to ensure equal coverage across Gujarat’s digital connectivity landscape. The MoC will play a key role in achieving over 98% service uptime. The Gujarat Department of Science and Technology has submitted a one-time capital expenditure plan of Rs 6,000 crore for 10 years, along with a DPR to the Centre.
