This October half-term and beyond the Fleet Air Arm Museum is offering the chance for visitors to do a deep dive into the collection of Europe’s largest naval aviation museum, alongside chances to enjoy some scientific tricks and treats under Concorde.

Joined by the Explorer Dome team the Fleet Air Arm Museum is offering the chance for visitors to enjoy exhilarating science demonstrations and experiments. Key concepts in chemistry and physics will be explained with a brilliant array of experiments, encouraging visitor’s imaginations and giving them the opportunity to ask questions. While they’re sure to impress it’s encouraged to not try these experiments at home. This event is free with a valid museum ticket and show times are throughout the day.
- Fleet Air Arm Museum, Active Aviators- Spooky Halloween with Aggie Weston’s, Thursday 24th October 10:30am to 12pm
This friendly group for under 5s and their parents/carers will help visitor’s little aviators blow off some steam. This month’s event is about all things halloween, with a morning filled with crafts, sing-alongs, toys, games and a hot drink and sit-down for the grown-ups. Spaces are limited and tickets to this event are £3 per adult, with up to 3 accompanying under 5s, or free with a valid museum ticket or Annual Pass. This talk sees the welcome return of Alistair Hodgson, a de Havilland aficionado who spent many years at Salisbury Hall, the de Havilland Museum at London Colney Hertfordshire. Full of fascinating detail, Alistair’s talk will dive into the history of the first jet airliner, its highs and lows, and it’s long and distinguished military transport role with the RAF. - Fleet Air Arm Museum, Joint Tour of The Fleet Air Arm Museum & Navy Wings, Thursday 17th October 2024 10am to 4pm
This special collaboration between the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Navy Wings will allow visitors to get up close and personal to the collections of both organisations. Enjoy a tour of the Fleet Air Arm Museum by one of the tour guides, and enjoy the museum’s key exhibitions, before meeting the Chief Engineer of Navy Wings and learning all about their collection. Tickets must be bought online prior to the day, and all attendees must bring photographic ID. Join one of the curators at the Fleet Air Arm Museum for an exciting chance to see some of the collection not currently on display to the public, and discover how the museum cares for the thousands of items held in its collection stores. This tour will focus on the archive and small object collections within Cobham Hall. Please note there is no access to the aero hall as part of this tour. Spaces are limited and tickets must be booked in advance, visitors will need to meet at Cobham Hall – directions will be provided following booking.
