Malcolm Rand, 93, was a widowed former scientist who resided in Church Lane, Dry Sandford, near Abingdon.
He died on September 25 at the City Community Hospital in Headington after experiencing an unwitnessed fall at home. His death was verified by a registered nurse.

The circumstances surrounding his death are currently unknown.
An inquest was opened into his death at Oxford Coroner’s Court on Thursday (October 17).
His medical cause of death has been provided as pneumonia, fractured neck of femur, cognitive impairment, chronic kidney disease, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Assistant coroner Nicholas Graham has set a date for a full inquest to take place at the same court on November 22 at 10am.
