YEREVAN, 31 October. /ARKA/. Talented youth gathered at the awarding ceremony of the winners of ‘Science Week’ in the Museum of Communications.
Awards were given to the winners in the nominations ‘Science Week through my eyes’, ‘Star Horizon’ and ‘Science-Con’, the press service of Team Telecom Armenia reports.
Jim Hovhannisyan’s ‘Big Bang’ won the main prize in the ‘Drawing’ nomination, Artur Arakelyan’s story ‘The Price of Utopia’ won the literary contest, and Lusine Petrosyan’s project ‘What if It Works?’ took the first place in the ‘Comics’ nomination.
When I started thinking about what to draw for the contest, I immediately realised that my theme would be space. It seemed to me that a white hole fits this idea: unlike a black hole, it does not absorb, but ejects and spreads matter. However, its existence has not yet been scientifically proven. In the process, I realised that my picture is more like the Big Bang, which is considered to be the beginning of the universe and all things. Of course, it’s more like pure science fiction. I have no idea what the Big Bang looked like. It’s just my interpretation,‘ said 16-year-old Jim Hovhanissyan.’ said 16-year-old Jim Hovhannisyan.
The winners of the contest received smartphones, tablets and smart watches. The awards were presented by Karen Shaboyan, commercial director of Team Telecom Armenia.
According to Lilit Margaryan, Chief Operating Officer of Gituzh Initiative, the results are impressive both in terms of the number of entries and the level of content submitted.
This was the first attempt of Gituzh and Team Telecom Armenia to inspire creative communities in Armenia with science-themed projects. We are very happy to note that this initiative was successful. We are confident that this experience should be a lasting one, contributing to the development of scientific imagination and creative thinking in Armenia.’
