LONG ISLAND, NY – Dr. Raj Shah, Director at Koehler Instrument Company in Holtsville, NY, recently received the prestigious AOCS Fellow Award from the American Oil Chemists’ Society at its 2024 annual meeting in Montreal.
The AOCS Fellow Award is one of the highest honors awarded in the business, recognizing exceptional achievements in science, research, industry, and education within the fields of oils, fats, proteins, and surfactants. Shah, in a press release, expressed gratitude to his colleagues and mentors, particularly Dr. Sevim Erhan, who accepted the award on his behalf.
Shah’s contributions have also been celebrated by other notable organizations. At the NLGI annual meeting in Toronto, he received both the Clarence E. Earle Memorial Award, honoring his impact on technical literature for lubricating greases, and the Golden Grease Gun Award for his advancements in grease technology and application. These accolades mark the first time both awards were presented to a single individual in the same year.
Shah’s career achievements include a prolific publication record with over 675 articles, and he serves as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Stony Brook. He holds Fellow titles from eight prestigious institutions and certifications across six fields, including Chartered Chemist, Chartered Engineer, and Chartered Scientist.
Based in Long Island, NY, Shah is involved in mentoring, mobile photography, and community philanthropy with his family.
