The JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) celebrated the achievements of its latest graduates at the 2nd Completion Ceremony themed “Nurturing the Future of Healthcare: Commitment, Compassion, and Excellence” on Tuesday. Held at Mulia Hotel in Berakas, the event highlighted the dedication of 134 students completing the Foundation in Science program.
The ceremony was attended by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, as the guest of honour, and featured prominent addresses from JCHS and Jerudong Park Medical Centre representatives. Dr. Karpagam Chakkaravarthy, Clinical Nurse Specialist (Educator) at JPMC, also shared her expertise and encouragement with the new graduates as guest speaker.
CEO of JCHS Ms. Chung Yea Fui, praised the graduates for their hard work and resilience, noting that the theme of the ceremony — Commitment, Compassion, and Excellence — reflects core values essential for success in healthcare. She emphasized that commitment fuels the pursuit of knowledge, compassion transforms care into healing, and excellence drives ongoing improvement in an evolving field.
Dr. Chakkaravarthy inspired graduates with her insights, encouraging them to embrace both the challenges and opportunities in healthcare, while class representative Nur Athirah Muti’ah Binti Haji Hamdilah motivated her peers to carry forward the values of resilience and growth. The ceremony included a Pledge of Loyalty led by Ahmad Nabeel Bin Haji Mohammad Azaman, reinforcing the graduates’ dedication to their profession.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates by Dr. Haji Azman, honouring the accomplishments of the graduates who are now prepared to continue their studies in healthcare. The Foundation in Science Certificate, central to the JCHS curriculum, offers a strong foundation in general and life sciences, preparing students for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and furthering JCHS’s mission to empower the next generation of healthcare leaders.
