Ahmedabad: The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad is set to host the “International Conference on Meteoroid, Meteor, Meteorites: Messengers from Space (MetMeSS-2024)” from Nov 20-22. The three-day event aims to bring together scientists and researchers to discuss advancements in meteoritics and planetary science. With approximately 140 participants expected, including a significant number of young scientists, the conference will feature around 90 scientific papers covering diverse topics such as space weathering, extraterrestrial organics, and astrochemistry.
In light of India’s recent Chandrayaan-3 mission success, discussions will also touch upon future missions like Chandrayaan-4. A pre-conference workshop will offer hands-on training for students pursuing advanced studies. “The conference aims towards collaborative studies among professionals of planetary research in India on an international scale,” said a senior PRL official.
