Pandit Vijayshankar Mehta, a spiritual guru and author from Ujjain, shared his thoughts, saying, “If religion and science are harmonised in every home, everyone can experience peace. If this formula is applied to society, world peace will not take long.
“Also, this revolutionary experiment of keeping a smile on everyone’s face brings peace to life. Everyone should resolve to keep a smile on their face when entering the house,” he added.
The 29th Philosopher Santshree Dnyaneshwar-Tukaram Memorial Lecture Series, organised jointly by MIT World Peace University, World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India, and the Santshree Dnyaneshwar-Santshree Tukaram Maharaj Memorial Lecture Trust under the UNESCO Adhyasana from 24th to 30th November, was inaugurated at Santshree Dnyaneshwar Hall of MIT World Peace University, Kothrud, Pune. Pandit Mehta was the chief guest for the event.
The ceremony was graced by the 14th descendant of World Peace at 29th Dnyaneshwar-Tukaram Memorial Lecture, who also served as the chief guest, and world-renowned scientist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, who was the guest of honor. The founding president of MIT World Peace University and head of UNESCO Adhyasana, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, chaired the event.
Among the dignitaries present were Rahul Vishwanath, Executive President of MIT World Peace University Karad, MIT ADT University Executive President Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, WPU Vice Chancellor Dr. RM Chitnis, and 29th Philosopher Santshree Dnyaneshwar-Tukaram Smriti Lecture Series Coordinator and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Milind Pandey.
Paithankar emphasised the importance of Indian culture and spirituality, saying, “Indian culture is the best, and the Warkari sect has shown the world the path of peace. In today’s era, it is not right to define spirituality and science separately. Thinking about the nature of the soul is spirituality, and it is in all religions. In fact, the world needs peace, and it will be obtained from science. It is possible if a person uses knowledge properly. Knowledge is an inner thought, and for that, one should read the literature of saints every day.”
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar added, “In the present era, humans have achieved everything on the basis of science, but there is no happiness and peace in life. For this, spiritual and self-knowledge are necessary. It is necessary to recognise the definition of truth.”
Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad emphasised the aim of the lecture series, saying, “This lecture series has been started with the main objective of conveying the message of philosopher Saint Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram to mankind. Here, the worship of virtues is the true worship of God. The mind and soul should be more contemplated. This is how one realises what the purpose and duty of life is.”
Dr. Mangesh Karad concluded by stating, “Dharma, artha, kama, and moksha are the most important in life and should be followed. Looking at the development of the country, India is emerging as the third economic system. At such a time, this country will lead the world in the future and become a world guru.”
