The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved a Memorandum of Cooperation between Bulgaria’s Education and Science Ministry and Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation, the Government press service said.
The document is a continuation of the already existing Memorandum of 2018 and is re-signed for a new period of four years – from 2025 to 2028. The approved funds under the agreement amount to BGN 622,110, with an indicative amount of BGN 155,527 allocated for each year. The funds will finance up to 5 nine-month scholarships for young scientists and 2 three-month scholarships for researchers from the Bulgarian scientific diaspora.
The joint document between Bulgaria and Switzerland strengthens the two countries’ successful bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science. Young scientists are supported to carry out research at the highest level, to carry out international knowledge transfer and to enhance their qualifications and career development.
