Local band Easy Love will spread sweet sounds at an upcoming fundraiser for Selkirk Alliance for Science.
The concert, which features Randi Marie Shaw, her mother, Tina Shaw and Mike Lithgow, will take place Sunday, Jan. 26, 2-4 p.m. at Create Art Center, 900 W. Fourth, Newport.
The event is a fundraiser for the Selkirk Alliance for Science and is free to attend. Monetary donations will be accepted to fund science education activities that are usually free to the public.
A local nonprofit organization staffed by volunteers since 2018, the alliance organizes “Power of Science” presentations on a variety of topics, workshops and other hands-on activities, citizen science opportunities, online science resources and science trivia contests. In addition, SAS offers scholarships for local high school graduates pursuing a science career and evidence-based white-paper essays.
Donations are tax-deductible where permitted by law.
Easy Love will perform a unique blend of vocal harmonies and lyrics. Their energetic sound comes from an upright bass, acoustic and electric guitar, and mother-daughter vocal harmony. They play all original music in a variety of genres.
