Senior Principal Scientist at IICT, Dr Surya Prakash Singh, has been awarded the MRSI Medal for 2025 for his contributions to advanced functional materials and translational research, including innovations in solar cell technologies and bio-imaging dyes.

Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) Senior Principal Scientist, Dr. Surya Prakash Singh has been conferred the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI)’s Medals for 2025.
Dr. Singh’s group works on the development and advanced functional materials for applications in the chemical industry and energy sectors. He has received numerous awards such as INSA Distinguished Fellow 2025, INSA Associate Fellow 2024, CRSI Bronze Medal 2024.
Dr. Singh’s group is engaged in translational research and he developed a large variety of molecularly engineered photosensitizers and applied them in various photonic devices such as Dye Sensitized Solar Cells, Organic Solar Cells and Perovskite Solar Cells.
For the first time, he has also developed neutral room temperature stable, non toxic and highly fluorescent BODIPY dyes as mitochondria trackers.
