What does space exploration look like when viewed through the lens of creativity? A new exhibition inside Fusion: A STEAM Gallery at Orlando Science Center invites guests to find out. “Space for Art,” now on display, brings together artwork created by astronauts, NASA scientists and young artists from around the world. It reveals how art and science intersect to tell deeply human stories about exploration, resilience and connection.
This exhibition is brought to OSC by the Space for Art Foundation. Curated by Nicole Stott — veteran astronaut, artist and Foundation creator — the display is rooted in the idea that creativity belongs to everyone. Through the Space for Art Foundation, Stott has worked with children from all walks of life, inviting them to express hope, curiosity and imagination through art. Much of that artwork now lives far beyond the classroom, with some pieces even traveling to the International Space Station.

The focal point of this exhibition is the “Beyond Art Spacesuit.” Far more than a display piece, the spacesuit serves as a wearable canvas, bringing together artwork from young creators across the globe into a single, vibrant symbol of collaboration, creativity and possibility.
That spirit of creativity has inspired OSC to think beyond the gallery walls. The newly launched Spacesuit Design Challenge draws from the show’s themes, encouraging participants to imagine and build their own wearable spacesuits using recycled materials.
The challenge reflects the same blend of innovation and artistic problem-solving seen throughout this exhibition. The journey comes full circle in February during Spark STEM Fest, happening Feb. 14 – 16, when those imaginative designs will take center stage during the Spacesuit Fashion Show. Guests can see the creations up close as they move from concept to runway, celebrating ingenuity, sustainability, and bold ideas. Select winners will even have the opportunity to meet a real astronaut — an unforgettable moment that connects creative expression directly to real-world exploration.
Come see “Space for Art,” showing now through April 4, 2026, and don’t miss the Spacesuit Fashion Show in February.
Nicole Stott will also participate in a Fireside Chat as part of Science Night Live during Spark STEM Fest on Feb. 14. Guests will hear about her experiences in space and creating global connections through art. Learn more and get tickets at OSC.org.
