The St. Joe County Public Library invites families and science enthusiasts of all ages to the 34th Annual Science Alive, a celebration of exploration and learning, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library (304 S. Main Street, South Bend, IN).
Event Highlights Include:
- Interactive Exhibits: Explore fascinating displays from nearly 40 local organizations, including the Potawatomi Zoo, Notre Dame’s College of Science, and more.
- Live Stage Shows: Experience thrilling presentations like “Zoo to You” with Potawatomi Zoo, and “Kate the Chemist,” a nationally recognized scientist bringing mind-blowing experiments to the stage.
- Hands-On Activities: From farm animals to engaging science experiments, activities for all ages spark creativity and critical thinking.
- Photo Ops & Extras: Meet presenters, enjoy face painting, and capture memories at the photo station.

Free and Accessible for All
Science Alive is completely free, and no registration or library card is required. Parking is available in the library patron lot, nearby streets, and three downtown garages.
