‘A Routine Business Matter’: Deepinder Goyal’s Zomato Issues Fee Hike Clarification; Shares Dip And Netizens React

In the latest development regarding the platform fee hike, the food delivery giant Zomato issued a clarification on Thursday (October 24) after the stock exchange sought clarification on the matter. The company, today, in the response to it said, “At the outset, we would like to state that this is not a rumor, as the source of information mentioned in the article is the Zomato mobile application itself which is public and available for everyone to see and check. We have indeed increased the platform fee yesterday across certain cities. Such changes in our platform fee are a routine business matter and are done from time to time and may vary from city to city.”

The company shared this update on Wednesday (October 23) through a message on its app, stating that this small increase is necessary to help cover costs during the busy holiday time.
The message read, “This fee helps us pay our bills to keep Zomato running. To maintain services during the festive season, it has increased slightly.”

Food and winemakers named as finalists in NSW Tourism Awards

The NSW Tourism Association is thrilled to announce the finalists for the NSW Tourism Awards 2024, marking the first time they have hosted these prestigious awards.

This year’s award program celebrates the businesses and operators delivering exceptional visitor experiences across NSW, while highlighting the strength, pride and passion that drives the state’s vibrant visitor economy.
Two hundred award nominations were received this year, double that of previous years. The judging panel, featuring over 50 leading tourism experts, noted the increase in the quality of submissions, reflecting the growth in commitment to excellence across the state.
The NSW Tourism Awards serves as the only pathway for NSW visitor economy businesses to compete at the Australian Tourism Awards. As such, all entries were required to be assessed in line with the Quality Tourism Framework Sustainable Business Standards.
Natalie Godward, CEO, NSW Tourism Association, highlighted the award categories showcase the diverse range of businesses within the visitor economy. She also noted this year’s awards hold special significance as they were designed to unite and celebrate the achievements of the tourism sector.
“NSW Tourism Association is delighted to be hosting the awards for the first time and to lead the charge in recognising the amazing operators across NSW who are making great contributions to the visitor economy across our state,” she said.
“These awards recognise the exceptional standards in visitor experience and aim to unite the tourism community.
“This year, we’ve engaged more industry experts in the judging process to ensure every entrant meets the highest levels of quality through accreditation. It’s a reflection of our commitment to supporting the long-term success of tourism businesses across the state and to inspire continued growth.”
